According to the European Space Agency, the BepiColombo space probe has transmitted the first image of Mercury.

The joint European-Japanese mission BepiColombo showed a snapshot of Mercury taken on October 1, 2021, as the spacecraft flew past the planet.

This video shows a fragment of the northern hemisphere of the planet closest to the Sun.
