The 3rd meeting of the Interstate Council on Space of the CIS member states was held

On June 9 this year, the 3rd meeting of the Interstate Council on Space of the CIS member states was held in the format of a video conference, where the Acting General Director of the Uzbekcosmos Agency Shukhrat Kadirov took part.

- Given the warm relations and maintained ties between our countries in various fields of activity, I hope that interstate cooperation in the space sector will also acquire a new meaning, and joint intentions will lead to the desired results. I would also like to note that just recently, Center for Space Monitoring and Geoinformation Technologies the State Unitary Enterprise was established within the structure of the Uzbekcosmos Agency, which is entrusted with a number of tasks in the development of Remote Sensing of the Earth and geoinformation systems. In this regard, we are interested in new ideas, we are ready for an open discussion of any initiatives, based on your positive long-term experience and taking into account the contribution of each country in the development of space activities, - says Shukhrat Kadirov, Acting General Director of the Uzbekcosmos Agency.

 

Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos, was elected Chairman of the meeting by unanimous decision and will head the Council until the fourth meeting.

 

During the meeting, the participants discussed such issues as:

 

• Implementation of the decisions of the second meeting of the Interstate Council on Space of January 27, 2021;

• Draft Concept of the interstate program of the CIS member states for the provision and use of services in the space sector;

• Cooperation of the CIS member states on the creation of a Multi-Purpose Aerospace System for Predictive Monitoring of Natural and Technogenic Emergencies;

• Cooperation of the CIS member states in the development of monitoring systems for man-caused contamination of near-Earth outer space;

• Cooperation of the CIS member states on the regulatory and technical support of jointly implemented projects;

• Creation of a space system for remote sensing of the Earth of medium resolution;

• Training and retraining of personnel for the space industry;

• Approval of the work plan of the Interstate Space Council for 2022-2023.

 

The next meeting is scheduled for the first half of 2023 in the Republic of Tajikistan.
