On July 15, 2021, on the basis of the letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 13, 2021 No. 05-1/26580, a meeting was held between the Uzbekcosmos Agency and Nokia.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the role of Nokia in cooperation in the implementation of monitoring and dispatching of flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Uzbekistan.

The General Director of Uzbekkosmos, Shukhrat Kadirov, acquainted the guests with the main activities of the agency, also expressed interest in cooperation with Nokia in legalizing the use of UAVs for commercial purposes and in exchanging experience in this direction.

The vice-president of Nokia, Mikko Lavanti, acquainted the representatives of Uzbekcosmos with the work done in this area in Europe, and also spoke about the special role and importance of monitoring and regulating processes in the use of UAVs and shared his own observations about possible risks.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on cooperation between the technical teams of both sides and the nearest joint goals were determined.
